What platform to use? We looked at the Dodge ProMaster as it seems to have a design and dimensions that are ideal for a Class B RV. Front wheel drive and the Dodge Pentastar V6 with their 68TE six speed automatic, that is known to be fairly reliable. Fuel mileage was reported to be ~18 MPG and offers decent performance for the open road traveling.

Our design required a WIndow Van with certain options useful for a DIY RV platform and with most of the units on the lot outfitter for commercial “trade” use, we needed to order ours with our exact list of options. Estimated delivery time was 16 weeks. No problem for us as that fit out schedule perfectly!
